Home safely...

This weekend was the most amazing weekend ever! The weather in Charlotte was AMAZING and I am patiently waiting have such nice days here too! Brian and I had so much fun spending time with my family which included grilling out, fire on the patio, wine & beer, grandparents, baseball, yummy food, family, rummikub, eggs, and lots of fun! Of course I forgot to take pictures so I have stolen a few from my mom...
Emma had so much fun having Brian help with the high eggs!

Emma sneaking through Moms beautiful Jasmine to get her eggs

How precious is she! Sweetest puppy EVER!

Most all of Easter was spent here. It was so beautiful!
Needless to say it was an amazing weekend filled with lots of smiles and laughter. It is always so hard to leave but thank goodness there is always a next time!
Our drive home was quite an adventure! There was a very bad accident involving the car directly behind us on I-77 North just before we got on 81. We saw the accident happen and heard it which was just as bad so I spent about 5 minutes on the phone with 911. Unfortunaltey last night I looked to see if anyone had been injured which by the looks of things I knew someone probably had been and the driver of the van was killed. Brian and I are very thankful and very lucky to be here.
Thank you for everyone who made this weekend so amazing...
Mom, Dad, Will, Katie, Emma, Papa, Pat, the pups and anyone else I missed! Brian and I truley love you all so much and are so lucky to have you in our lives!
Shout out to my love bug!! I love you so much Emma and can't wait to see you soon! Brian and I are looking forward to you seeing our new house soon! Love you E...always! <3 Les

It's Easter Time!

Well it's been one crazy week it seems. We had a wonderful weekend and we started it off hanging out with Timmy and Jennifer (click the link and it goes to their blog) and the kids...
Then we spent Saturday doing house/married life things...Brian to the car to get the oil changed and the wheels balanced since the tires have been shaky and I stayed home cleaning and re arranging our house! I moved our dining table into the kitchen and made the "dining room" into any office like space with our desk so I can do my couponing somewhere other than the couch! I took a picture on my phone so its not great but here's a peek...
Papa and Grandmama's table really makes our kitchen! I am so happy to have it in our home and Brian and I love feeling like we can use it now. When it was out of the kitchen it made us feel like we could on use it for special occasions.
I took Daisy to the vet on Tuesday for her check up and all of her shots since she is going to be around the puppy and just plain was due for them. Yesterday was a little scary she had a bad reaction to the shots and could hardly walk yesterday morning and was in  A LOT of  pain yelping and shaking. Thank goodness when I got home from work she was doing better and after a nice walk to get her muscles more stretched she was fine.
We are looking forward to heading to Charlotte tomorrow late afternoon. We are having the Young's over for dinner tonight and then its packing time. Emma already has plans for us to dye Easter eggs on Saturday. I am sure we will be packing in a lot this weekend. Brian and I are both looking forward to a little vacation and spending time with family. I always have loved Easter and I am really looking forward to that yummy HAM!!
I will try to take some pictures and post an update when we get back.

Happy Easter everyone!

missing the south...

The weather here has been so dreary here! Everyone at work is in a funk including me! We moved into this spectacular office with crazy windows all around, but when the weather is nasty it magnifies it! It seems like it has rained for 2 weeks straight! I was also dumb enough to put Charlotte as one of my favorite loactions on weather.com because it is SOOOO nice there everyday and it is cold and wet here.
Needless to say I am looking forward to going home for Easter and the weather better not let me down!
Brian's allergies are in full swing too, so stuffy and grumpy husband has been fun to deal with too(jk)! It was somewhat pleasant here yesterday...hot but cloudy and it poured rain last night, but we managed to have dinner on the back porch after making hot dogs on our new....
GRILL!!!
Thanks to MOM AND DAD!!!
We are so in love with this. We got it Saturday night and cooked on it every night since we bought it. We have had steaks, burgers, and hot dogs!
I grew up having things "hot off the grill" and I have missed it so much. We were both so happy last night to be able to grill out and then eat on our patio. Brian and I both agreed we don't miss our apartment AT ALL!
Things are going well and we are staying busy. Brian is heading to Solomon's Island with Timmy this weekend possibly so I may have a weekend to get things done before heading to NC. Can't wait to spend some time with the family and meet the newest member Miss Nelly! I will make sure and take lots of pictures!!
Much love!

We had beautiful weather here yesterday then a nasty storm last night which has led into today being nasty and cold. Yesterday Brian and I took a nice walk after work. We are really enjoying our new neighbor hood that is so quiet. We walk through some new duplexes that are across from us and walk to the elementary school nearby. Daisy was very happy and with 84 degree weather I got to pull out my flip flops! I am such a warm weather girl! I can not wait for this weather to stay nice.
I made fish cakes for dinner last night (just like crab cakes just with trout). I have had a goal to take Sunday to get my thoughts together on a menu for the week and only buy what I need for those meals plus household items we are out of. I am on week 3 and I have spent in 3 weeks what I used to spend in 1!!! I am only spending about $60 a week. So I have decided I will start sharing my weekly menu and maybe it will help give someone a dinner idea.

Monday- Fish cakes on a bun, mac and cheese, corn
Tuesday- pork tenderloin, wild rice, broccoli
Wednesday-skillet ham, pasta salad
Thursday- Hamburgers, sweet potato fries
Friday-grilled chicken salad

Saturdays and Sundays I never plan because we are out and about so much and sometime grab things while we are out. Plus even though I plan the meals sometimes we have them on a different night! I try to have everything ready and meat thawed out incase we change our minds!

Everything here is going well. We are both busy working and enjoying our times together. We are looking forward to warmer weather so we can get the boat out on the river. That is by far my favorite time of the year and Daisy even enjoys the boat now too!
We are looking forward to Easter down South! Can't wait for Mom's meals! I have a long way to go to being like her as a cook! Nothing I make compares! I will keep trying though!

Much love from MD...until next time!

Its been a while...

So I have really been slacking on posts but I will get better I promise.
Things have been pretty crazy since the move and I still haven't taken any pictures of the place! We feel much more like a family now in the townhouse. We feel like we have a HOME! Daisy really enjoys our backyard and she doesn't have to be on the leash out there which makes her very happy.
Brian has been staying busy at work and so have I. The market is picking up again so we have started to get busier. Brian is finally done with all the shows at work so we have been spending the weekends around the house. We still need a few pieces of furniture so we have been hunting auctions for an antique corner cabinet and we are going tonight to look at a kitchen table.
Things are coming together well and we are really happy. We are heading to Charlotte for Easter which will be a visit that is long overdue. We have had a couple visits from the family so we haven't gone south in a while. We missed Emma's, Papa's, and Dad's birthday but I heard all about it from everyone. Mom and Dad have been staying busy with their newest addition....NELLY!
From what we have heard she is darling...we are all looking forward to meeting her at Easter! I am sure Daisy will enjoy her very much! I will make sure and post pictures from our time back home!
We are looking forward to our anniversary...I am calling tomorrow to book our stay at the Bavarian Inn in Shepardstown, WV. Brian and I are both looking forward to staying the night in this amazing place and enjoying 5 star food and a view of the Potomac river! It is so hard to believe that a year ago I was having my shower and hectically planning the loose ends of our wedding. This has been such an amazing year with so many changes. We are both so happy and in such an exciting place of our lives. We look forward to the next year and many more years to come!
