10 Day Challenge- Five Foods

So I love food! I love making food and eating food! I really love my Moms food! So it is going to be hard to pick 5 things!

1. Meatloaf- Haha! As crazy as it is I LOVE meatloaf! My Mom's/Grandmama's is the BEST! I used to ask for this for my Birthday dinner!

2. Brunswick Stew w/ Oysters- This has become the new Birthday tradition for me and I love it! I can't wait for October to roll around! I love being outside with sweatshirts on shucking oysters and eating a huge bowl of Brunswick stew a al Mom!

3. Banana Pudding- Probably one of my top favorite desserts! Its is just always so good!

4. Peach Cobbler- I have made so much of this recently and it never gets old! I love it right out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream! YUM!

5. Sweet Tea!!!- I don't know if beverages really count but this is hands down a staple for me! I am a true southern girl at heart and I would DIE without Sweet Tea! It has been hard living in Maryland because it just isn't as popular here! I hate hearing that they have "unsweetened but we have sugar on the table"! UGH! It is NOT THE SAME THING! So Brian and I tend to go to restaurants whwere I KNOW they have good Sweet Tea!

Looking at this list I guess you can tell I love good down home southern food! I don't like fancy stuff and small portions!

10 Day Challenge- Six Places

So I haven't traveled much and really I am such a home body that I don't really have that many places I want to go. But here we go!

1. Charlotte, NC- I love this place! It will always be a comfort to me!

2. The South- I love everything about the south! I know it is a little politically incorrect and maybe a little rude but I love what it stands for. I love the Old South and the honesty and the glamour! I love that women get dressed to the nines everyday and care about how they look. I love the Southern drawl and I love the hospitality.

3. Kiawah Island- I grew up going here every summer and I really miss it! I am hoping Brian and I can take our family there one day. I talk about it all the time and I really want Brian to be able to experience the magic of Kiawah!

4. Italy- This is somewhere I would like to go! It is really one of the only places I would care to go outside of the US. I am hoping maybe one day we can plan a girls trip! I know my Mom would like to go there someday too!

5. Hawaii- This is one other place I would like to go! I just want to go somewhere truly tropical!

6. Home- I think Home defines a lot of places for me. My parents house will always be home and then Brian and I have a home as well.I love being at Home...I enjoy living in my own little world and just relaxing. Sundays are my favorite days when Brian and I just lay around and piddle working on chores. I love to snuggle up with Daisy and watch a  good movie and make a yummy home cooked meal.

So thats all..I am heading my Charlotte HOME this weekend and I can't wait to get to spend some time with my parents and Emma and Katie. I am also hoping to see my grandparents while I am home too. I will check in tomorrow! Love to all from MD!

10 Day Challenge- Nine Fears

So today is 9 fears...I know I can think of 9 fears. I guess we all have our own fears so we better just embrace them.
1. I am so scared of something happening to someone in my family and I can't get to NC fast enough. That was a big deal for me when I had to make the choice to move to be with Brian or lose Brian and stay in NC. After my brother in law was in a bada ccindent a couple years ago it made me realize how this crazy things happen and then you can't get there fast enough. I know though at any moment I can hop in a car and be there in 6 hours.

2. I am so scared of something happening to Brian. I don't know what I would do! I feel like I depend on him so much and I can't imagine my life without him in it.

3. I am scared of snakes (but not as bad as Brian).

4. I am afraid of raw chicken! I hate it and it grosses me out and I am always scared that I am going to give someone e-coli or salmonella(whichever one you get from chicken).

5. I am afraid of cats...I love dogs but I don't like how unpredictable cats are. I am always scared they are going to pounce on me and bite me!

6. I am afraid of losing my relationship with Emma since I am not there all the time now. But I am working on this and I try to do as much as I can.

7. I am afraid of having a baby. As much as I want one I am scared I either won't be able to get pregnant or I will be a horrible mother or something. I am also really scared about being a working mom because my mom was always there with us. I wish so much I could do this but we don't live in a work that makes that very practical.

8. I am scared of bugs...especially BIG bugs! We have these crazy moths here that FREAK me out! I don't like things that look like birds!

9. I am deathly afraid of CROWS! I guess that movie The Birds really got to me and I hate when there are like 10 of them on a line or in a yard. I feel like they are all going to come after me at once!

So that's it for today!
Love from MD...Les

10 Day Challenge

So here is goes. I will be blogging for the next 10 days! This seemed fun so I thought I would do it too!
So today is 10 Secrets! This seems hard but at the same time kinda fun!

1. I really want a baby but I think it is just because everyone around me has babies or is pregnant! I am slowly embracing the fact that now is not the best time. Thank goodness I have a husband who is very realistic whereas I really like to live in la la land sometimes! I guess it is good that we balance each other out!

2. I really miss my family! Not that this is really a secret and it's not that I don't love living in MD and being here but I really miss the little things! I miss not being there when Emma gets home from her first day of school or going to pick her up from afterschool. I miss coffee and Sleepy Poet dates with my Mom and sister. I miss hanging out with my brother when he is home from school and I miss suprising my Dad at work. I know someday I will have all of that again and I am grateful for all these memoires I had before I moved but I do miss it.

3. My dog is my world! I know it is so silly but I really worry about her all the time and when she doesn't lay with me on the couch or when she goes to Brian instead of me I get really offended. I think she knows this though and thinks its really funny. I don't know what I will do when that day comes because she is the best!

4. I hate doing dishes and laundry. Brian knows this is no secret but I really do hate to do them. I guess this is typically why they are the only 2 things to make my house look like a mess. I always seem to wash the dishes and let them lay on my counter "drying" for 4 days and I always seem to do the laundry and fold it then put it on the bench in our room and it will lay there until I wear it all again. Brian really dislikes this about me.

5. I don't like wearing shoes. I take them off under my desk all day at work, I take them off when I drive and you will never see me in my house with shoes on. I like to be barefoot! I don't like wearing socks so that always poses a problem in the winter. But I really like to be barefoot.

6. My niece is one of the best things that ever happened to me! I really wish I had a picture on my computer of the day that she was born. I will rememember that day FOREVER! She had my heart the second I laid eyes on her. She inspires me and makes me want to be a better person for her. I love when she calls to tell me something fun that she has done or to tell me that some country song made her think about me. I wish I could be there for her more. But atleast she always knows I am phone call away and that she can tell me ANYTHING! I can't wait til she is a teenager and has all kinds of fun things to call me about. I also can't wait until she has a little cousin because I know she is going to be so excited and will love our baby more than just a cousin does. She has such a sweet heart and loves so much! I know she knows I love her but I don't tell her enough so it is kind of a secret! ;)
7. I love broccoli and cauliflower!I could eat everyday all day! It never gets old to me!

8. I hate my handwriting. Everyone always says I have such pretty handwriting but I always think it looks horrible. I wish I took more time and that it looked my uniform. Just one of those weird things I guess!

9. I like to sit at home and watch movies and not do ANYTHING on weekends! Too bad Brian doesn't really like to do this. He will for part of the day but never the whole day. I would love one day for me to never get out of my pajamas!

10. I love being a wife! I guess Brian would even find this a secret because I don't say it enough but I like having a purpose. I like coming home from work everyday and knowing I have to make dinner. I like having goals and a purpose so I guess marriage is good for me. I enjoy always having Brian there and talking things through with him. It is good for me!
So that's all folks! I will be back tomorrow! Love from MD!

It's Shower Time!

So this weekend was a busy one but Cassie's Shower ended up being amazing! Here are a few pictures I stole from Cassie and her aunt. I can't seem to get my pictures to come transfer to my computer!
Decorations and food!

Cake and cupcakes from Icing Bakery!
Bride arriving!
Lots of games!
Yay for gifts!! I was working hard on her ribbon bouquet!
Love her!
Cassie with 4 of her ladies and her beautiful ribbon bouquet!
So that was the weekend. We had a scare today with an earthquake. It was an experience I have never felt before. It was only about 180 miles from here so it was still pretty strong. Plus being on the 4th floor of a building makes it a little more terrifying. But all is well. I am glad it was pretty far away.
Hope everyone else is doing well!
Love as always from MD!

We are so excited to finally be able to tell everyone that we are going to be Aunt and Uncle to a new little one! Chris and Carly are expecting Baby Baugher in February! We are so happy for them and this little one already has us wrapped around his/her little finger!

We are so lucky to have Emma in our lives and she changed my life for sure 9 years ago and I am so excited for Brian to be able to enjoy this time too! He loves Emma so much but I wish he had been around when she was born. That is a day I will never forget! That little girl had my heart the second I held her. I can only imagine how it is going to be when we have our own children because the love I have for her is so amazing. We are so excited about this newest addition to the Baugher family. What I'm Loving Wednesday!

So here we are again...I didn't get to this last week but I have brought it back!!! I seem to have alot I want to do rigth now like changing up some of our furniture and hanging some more things are the house. I am going to work on doing a house tour in the next few weeks. Maybe showcase a room a week. I have some things that need to be done before I can do that though. I know there are some people that live away and would like to see our new house. I will work on it I promise. There is so much going on right now I don't know when I will get to these things though!
So...
1. I love the antlers on the wall! Being married to an avid hunter and taxidermist I have always wanted to know what to do with all the antlers but I love the 6 sets on each side of the door way! I have always loved antler chandeliers so hopefully one day that will be in the budget but I thought this was kind of cool.
2. BRIDAL SHOWERS!!! I am so excited about Cassies shower this weekend and when I saw this picture it kind of reminded me of our inspiration. It is going to be so pretty and I really hope you are going to enjoy it Cass!
3. I am really working on losing weight right now. I know I have brought it up a few times but I am doing really well right now. I have put a weight ticker on the side of my blog to keep me accountable for what I am doing. I am counting calories and trying to make better choices when it comes to what I put in my mouth. So...these quotes kind of spoke to me!

4. This quote reminded me of my Mom. I thought it was hilarious and I know she is always talking about the nose marks on the windows in her car a la Roxy and Nelly!
So that's it for today! I will check back in soon!!! Love from us in MD!

Another weekend GONE!

We had a great weekend. Friday night I did a Body Jam class at Sport & Health with Pam then grabbed Subway on the way home. On Saturday Brian got up early and went to the hunting property with his Dad and uncle to spread out corn and check out their stands. I can tell he is itching to be out in the woods! Bow season is only a month away! After he was done doing that he got the oil changed in my car. I was busy while he was gone doing laundry and catching up on things around the house. Once he got home we both got ready to head to Michael's Birthday party! We were so happy to be apart of his big day! We love him so much! Cassie and Justin threw an awesome party at Cassie's parents house. There were tons of kids running around! We were the only ones childless which kind of made me sad. But it will happen in time! I also got to love on the newest Roberts addition...Baby Lewis who is about 2 weeks old and only 5 pounds! He was so tiny and sweet and of course I was in 7th heaven getting to love on him for a while!
Here's the Birthday BOY!!!!
So needless to say we had a BLAST and loved getting to play with everyone else's kids!
Yesterday we went to the grocery store pretty early and then I started on a big project for Cassie's Shower. I really want to share it with you because I am really proud of myself. At first I thought I had bit off a lot more than I could chew but it turned out REALLY cute! I will post pictures after next weekend. I know Cassie reads this and I want her to have some surprises. So here is a teaser for now!
I have a packed week and weekend. I am looking forward to Cassie's shower on Saturday. Friday evening will be spent setting up and then we are heading to the Young's for a while. Then Saturday morning we will be cooking and getting things ready for the shower. I really think Cassie is going to LOVE it! She asked for pink and that's just what she is going to get!
I will make sure to take lots of pictures!

Love to all for now from MD!

Girls weekend!

So here we are...the Girls weekend is over. I guess it isn't very fair to call it that because Brian did spend some time with us but it was only in the evenings really.
We had a great time this weekend. Filled with laughter and jokes, a little shopping, cows, lots of yummy food, antiques, and doughnuts!

Saturday we started out the day at a little bakery in Boonsboro called Icing. I was so quaint and unique. We had a wonderful lunch topped off with cupcakes and macaroons and coffee. We then headed to our friend Tucker's farm. We all love going there and they are always so sweet to let us come and oogle at the amazing system they have going there. They have had tons of calves born recently and 2 had been born the morning we went. Tuckers girlfriend Mary Kate was so great with Emma and let her help bottle feed the new babies.

Emma loved getting to feed them and she named them all while she was at it! We spent a few hours there and then headed on home. We stopped by a farmers market on the way home and got veggies to go with our rockfish. Brian joined us for dinner and we grilled the rockfish and had a wonderful time just relaxing. Sunday was spent shopping at the outlets then going to the mall for lunch and we finished off the day with pork tenderloin a la Mom and veggies. Yesterday I was greeted at work by the best women in my life and we went to lunch at a cute place in downtown Frederick called Cafe Nola. It was okay but very busy and it took a long time to get our meals. It was a fun little adventure and once we all got home we had a london broil meal. It is always so good. It makes me feel like home. I made Dad's chocolate syrup to have on ice cream and Emma and I made homemade doughnuts last night so she could have them this morning before they went home.
I always hate the good byes but I always know it won't be long until we are together again soon. I am hoping to go home for Labor Day but there is alot to be done between now and then so I can't think about that yet.

It was such and amazing weekend and I will always cherish the memories that are made. Much love to my Mom, Katie, and Emma! I love you all very much and I am so blessed to have you in my life! You make this world a happier place!

Hope everyone is well and I will post again soon!
Love from MD!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I am starting something new...I love this concept and I have seen it on other blog posts!

1. Start of FALL...I love the Fall! Not only is my Birthday in October which always comes loaded with an Oyster Roast but I love being able to wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt and still getting away with sandals. I love the slight crisp air. The beautiful colors just add to it all. I LOVE AUTUMN!

2. I am LOVING weight loss inspiration! So I am determined to lose 10 pounds before October! I have to! I can't believe I have put on this much weight in a year! But Brian and I have a plan and we are going to eat healthy (not quick and easy anymore) and start working out. We are actually planning on buying the P90X dvds! We shall see. I am starting on Monday! I will be keeping you up to date on the progress! If this isn't motivation then I don't know what is!

3. I am LOVING that Mom, Katie, and Emma are coming to see me this weekend! I am so excited to see them and to have a relaxing Girls weekend since Brian has to work a hunting show! We aren't planning much just doing what feels like fun at the time!

So that is all for now...I am so glad it is Wednesday! Friday can't get here soon enough! I better get back to work! Love to ALL from MD!
